Do you remember the Tonkin Bay incident? That is the moment the United States entered the Vietnam War on a grand scale. We sent more troops over and built up the military forces for a trumped up incident.
Let us fast forward to the year 2012. China trumps up some "incident" and the sabers begin to get rattled and before you know CNN is reporting the tensions between The U.S. and China are high. Then out of the blue China decides to put an economic embargo on America. With the flip of a switch America has no more products arriving on our shelves. Imagine going into Walmart and the shelves are empty. No more anything.
When the economy tumbles the tax collection capacity of America will plummet and then the United States could not afford to pay the interest on the national debt, who by the way, China owns much of that debt. Then the value of American money will become worthless and the United States Military would no longer be able to purchase bombs or pay the personnel.
China would then be able to push us down with a feather and reduce our super power status to paper tiger. So, if you read of an incident where China starts to push the U.S. around in Taiwan be prepared. China teaches and trains to defeat America as if they were a mortal enemy. If this economic combat were to be combined with an oil blockade everyone better learn to speak Chinese.
Does this sound ludicrous or over simplified? Maybe, but I challenge you. Walk into any Walmart in America and pick out ten products in less than five minutes that are made in America. Then try it at Home Depot and then Lowe's.
Now where did I leave that book Chinese for Dummies?

Top-level comments on this article: (4 total)Great article, Mr. Keith. I have always felt distress over American companies moving their production over seas or to Mexico. Several plants that I have worked for over the years have pulled up stakes and left the country--presumably to get away from the restrictions placed on them by various Unions. But in reality, I think the real issue was to just get plan old slave labor. But for whatever their reasons, they have ruined the economy in this country and it is going from bad to worse. You can't buy any American product built in another country that is worth carrying from the store. Some of the blame could be placed on Americans as many Americans pressed for higher wages but wanted to do less work. There was a time when Americans had pride in what they produced; even I can remember when I could buy an American made product made in America and it would last for a good long time. Not anymore. And now to add insult to injury, the Chinese (through American products made there) are trying to kill our children with lead-based paints!
What more can be said. Good article. Isn't our money worthless already? Wal Mart, Another Great All American Company. yes, along with Dell and Micro Soft and GM and Ford and, oh well enough said. Hey keep writing, good job.
hi mr. keith, well written article on some really scary stuff. ya know, all i ever wanted as a child, was to grow up and have kids. now, i have been Blessed with a 17 year old son, a 20 year old son, and a 22 year old daughter, and i am scared to death for them. now it's just not worrying about them eating enough, or having enough money to pay their bills, or going to New York to walk around, or even jumping out of an airplane, as my daughter dragged me to watch her do for her 21st birthday, or drinking too much before they get behind the wheel, or even watching their lead feet on the gas pedals.(all worries i still have) thanks for scaring the heck out of me:) only kidding, i am scared, but i'd rather be aware than in the dark. thanks for bringing me into the light, best regards, sue
Well said Mr. keith its something I have been subconciously weary of for a while. I was always mystified that everything seemed to be made in china or taiwan. I live in Canada and all around me I see manufacturing crumbling! Companys like BF GoodRich , Bud Automotive, NCR, VCA. All of these companies moved their operations to either China or Mexico or in the the automotive sectors case were simply put out of business by our biggest and highest paying local automotive manufacturer...TOYOTA! many jobs lost , many families effected. The solution for North America has already been decided from what Ive seen covered on CNN. The USA , Canada and Mexico have signed an agreement that will merge our currency into one . This legal tender is suppossed to be named the AMERO apparently, much like the newly created EURO. I really enjoyed this article it helped me awaken to another possible threat. There will be many scary events in the next coming years on our way to 2012.Where the destruction will begin Im not sure. Turn off the TV READ and LEARN Make MUSIC LOVE were all being held back Mr. keith ;) I salute you. have you any other views on 2012? I would love to hear them love , peace, health and enlightenment to all Ty
