I remember in my younger days I was able to zip around corners and streak past all of the other children like a blur of light. The reason for this super speed capability was not because of my physical attributes but because my Dad bought me a new pair of converse sneakers. New sneakers always made me faster when I was a kid, didn't they make you faster too?
Off to the gym I go as I awaken in the wee hours of dawn to rid my body of the evil toxins and food and to ward off the pending diabetes and heart disease. As I travel down the empty, early morning road I see the glowing and beckoning lights of fast food row requesting my presence. I remain strong and steadfast and continue on my journey to the health club. I jump on the elliptical and pump and burn and wheeze as I put on a stellar performance of physical strength.
I leave the club after a shower and towards the time clock I march. I head off onto my day and sneak into the break room and swallow a cookie and rationalize that it is alright. I exercised today!
The clock wanders till lunch time and off to Subway I go because today I will eat healthy for lunch because the battle of the bulge is ongoing. I eat healthy return to work and later return home to dinner at home. A wonderful meal is had and onto the scale again the next day reveals a .8 pound loss! Victory is near again so a return trip to the gym to force the fat into submission. The victory is short term because pizza was free at lunch and will power was low!
Off to the gym again, eat healthy, eat not so healthy, Pizza, salad, water ,Pepsi, tennis, movie theatre, sandwiches, burgers, sweat, relaxation, weight loss, weight gain.
Weight loss is a journey, not a destination. It's called life!
