Pay Raises for Lawmakers and You Get Squat

So there you sit, struggling to makes financial ends meet. You have too much month at the end of your money and yet Congress ends up getting another pay raise. In what amounts to an automatic distribution of money, you and I are once again footing the bill for what amounts to an average raise of 2.8% or $4,700.00 a year to each member of Congress. If someone working in a retail store were to get that much more money in their paycheck it would be obscene by retail standards. Maybe Congress deserves the raise?

The budget is a mess, our manufacturing base is in the toilet, our jobs have left the country by the millions and the government itself is bankrupt. To think they received this raise because of a job well done then I would hate to see what they would get if what they do would actually help the average "Joe" in the retail sector. Congress has once again made a decision that benefits everyone but the people of The United States of America.

When are the citizens going to wake up and start voting some of these bums out of office? One suggestion would be that in the next election EVERY incumbent be voted against. What a difference it would make if each and every politician were to be voted out of office in one election? Maybe something would be done to help you make a living. Maybe the budget would start to teeter back towards being balanced. Maybe you would be able to get a higher paying job?

That's all for now, just wanted to rant for a moment. But before I go I want to just say that we now get taxed on our taxes. In a Wal-Mart I had a tire put on my car and had to pay a $1.00 "State Fee" to throw away the old tire. As we all know, a "fee" is really a code word for a tax. On that "Fee", I was forced to pay a tax of 6.5%. That is not alot of money, but the point is I had to pay tax on the money I was paying for a tax!!!

Our nation is broke, we lost millions of jobs and Congress gets a raise???????????????????

Election is only 2 years away, when will we, as a nation wake up and get rid of ALL the career politicians? If not, then you just keep looking for a job and if you need to settle for something in retail that is low paying then you just remember that little fact come next Election Day.

Keith spends most of his time as a manager in big box retail and when he is not he is tinkering with the internet. Creating websites has become so much more enjoyable than working in big box retail. He gets to write and do the things in life he loves to do!!!

MR. Keith what can I say. I was recently told love it or leave it. Just what can anyone say nada, zilch, nothing. They shove it in our face and we say thank you please again. Great job as usual and what can anyone say. You shall know them by their works and boy do we [oh I'm sorry] some of us know.

I fear that if we, as a nation, do not wake up soon, then we are doomed.

Mr. Keith if we sat back and looked at the deeds of our leaders over time and their relatiionships we would see a pattern that is very clear and distinct. It concerns Socialism, the ownership of land, our Republic as it is, today,  yes our very Consitution, our nation.. Doom and Gloom well maybe but reality. Now I know that is hard to take for many but as I say the reality is there for all. Doom, well again, certainly not for those who have. That is not the program.  As for the masses, well, waht matetrs they will go to any pasture they set out. Hard but reality. Best wishes, Robert.

Very interesting article. Double taxation, with more hidden agendas to come, how much more can we take? I agree we need to start voting some of these people out.
